Infrared Light
What is Thermal Imaging?
Thermal, or infrared energy, is light that is not visible because its wavelength is too long to be detected by the human eye; it’s the part of the electromagnetic spectrum that we perceive as heat. Unlike visible light, in the infrared world, everything with a temperature above absolute zero emits heat. Even very cold objects, like ice cubes. The higher the object’s temperature, the greater the IR radiation emitted.
Infrared cameras are an extremely cost-effective and valuable diagnostic tool in many diverse applications.
Architects and contractors are faced with new materials and ever-shorter production times. Efficient planning, supervision and documentation of the execution with regard to air tightness and thermal insulation are demanded. Unhealthy situations due to mould build-up or moisture need to be avoided. Infrared thermography can provide important information so that costly and time-consuming repair work can be avoided.
Furthermore, to a building owner or an insurance company involved in property damage settlement, clear images of normally invisible diagnostic evidence can be invaluable for planning the restoration effort and rationalizing settlements
What are the benefits of thermal imaging?
- Fast, non-invasive and non-destructive means of monitoring and diagnosing the condition of buildings
- Can help you quickly locate support beams, pipes, electrical cables, and flues in poured walls, floors and ceilings
- Ideal for the fast and effective analysis of energy losses in the heating or air conditioning of buildings
- Visualize in detail faulty insulation and cold bridges
- Location of water leaks in bathrooms, balconies and roofs
At Thermal Imaging Victoria we have the latest state of the art equipment and technology to enable us to do thorough inspections and investigations on your property.

Thermal imaging - Building Diagnostics
The infrared technology is particularly suitable for quick and effective detection of energy losses in buildings’ heating or air conditioning systems.

Thermal imaging - Plumbing
We use thermal imaging to assist in the diagnosing and detection of leaks, and for locating water pipework in a non-invasive, fast and efficient manner.
